ABOUT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Long after the dinner has been finished, the last dance has been danced, and the cake devoured, you will have only one major reminder of your wedding day – your photographs. When you view your wedding photographs decades from now, I want you to be pulled back into those moments from your special day. I want you to feel your heart beat faster and notice the corners of your mouth turn up in a smile as you think back to that one image and what was running through your mind when I snapped that picture.
Whether you book your wedding photography with me or not, I want you to love your images. As a result, I think it’s important to point out that I am not going to be the right wedding photographer for everyone. Because I am a photojournalist, I specialize in documentary-style wedding photographer. While, yes, I also do the portraits and family photos (those are important!), my wedding day photography will emphasize candid moments and subtle interactions between you as a couple, your guests, and everything in between.
We are probably a good fit for wedding photography if:
- Your wedding is more about your marriage than being re-pinned thousands of times or being featured on a major blog
- You love documentary photography and value strong, story-driven photography
- You’re up for an adventure – I love to hike, camp, rock climb, and otherwise leave no stone unturned – let’s do it!
- Your wedding is on the more intimate or smaller scale
I believe in equality for all and will gladly help you capture your LGBTQ wedding day, as well.
My wedding photography collections begin at $1,500, and $1,000 for elopements, and I am happy to create a custom quote for your day, as well.
ABOUT PORTRAIT SESSIONS
Your portrait session with me begins well before you step in front of my lens. It’s my goal to provide with you with incredible art, wrapped in a memorable experience you will love. Getting to know one another a little bit before we start taking photos helps you become more comfortable in front of the camera, and helps me capture your authentic self.
Included in every session is a pre-session consultation. Through every step of the process, I’ll be your guide, ensuring that all of the details – from wardrobe to poses – are thoughtfully considered. As a full-service photographer in Atlanta, I only work with a select number of clients each year so that I can continuously provide a high-touch experience for each and every person who chooses to have their session with me.
For portrait photography, I ask for a $200 retainer to secure your date and time. The $200 retainer is then applied as a credit toward whatever images you purchase. While I do not have any minimum purchase requirements, most of my clients spend about $1700 on their artwork. My most popular items are my incredible folio boxes and framed photographs.
ABOUT YOUR ARTWORK
As a photographer, one of the best feelings in the world comes from watching one of my clients hold their new photographs in their hands. I don’t think I could ever tire of watching those emotions wash over their faces. In the business of photography, quality and attention to detail matters. As such, I work closely with several select professional labs to ensure my clients receive only the best.
Hahnemühle paper has been in business for 425 years, producing the finest photo papers available to professional photographers today. I am pleased to print your photographs on their exquisite, 100% cotton papers. The ink used for your heirloom images has a lightfastedness rating of 108-200 years, ensuring that your images will be around for centuries. As well, each giclée print is cured for 24 hours before being hand-cut and then treated with Hahnemühle’s Protective Spray to help guard against UV exposure, dirt, fingerprints, and moisture. Simply, the quality is unrivaled.
In addition to printed photographs and matted folio boxes, I also offer framing services, hand-crafted albums, and wall art, including gallery wraps and hand-stretched canvas options. Some stationery options, like engagement announcements and holiday cards, are also available.
Every image you purchase comes with a digital copy.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
PORTRAITS: I ask for a $200 retainer fee to secure your date and time. That $200 is applied toward your final purchases. The average portrait clients purchases $1700 in photographs and artwork from me. Every image you purchase comes with a high-resolution digital copy for you to keep, and there are no minimum purchase requirements.
WEDDINGS: Annalise Kaylor Photography offers several wedding package options that begin at $1500 for wedding coverage and at $1000 for elopements.
Custom quotes are also available, and wedding clients are free to choose a package or build their own from the services I offer. My most popular wedding collections include product credit, which can be used for any of my product offerings including folio boxes, albums, wall art, and framed photographs, among other options.
WHY DO I ORDER MY PHOTOS THROUGH YOU?
I put a lot of effort into identifying the professional photo labs that offer my clients amazing products that are designed to last a lifetime. One of the biggest reasons I choose to use these labs is their commitment to me, as a professional, which results in a commitment to my clients. I am color calibrated with those labs, which means your photographic prints come back looking exactly as they should, and I guarantee that.
Consumer labs like the local drug store or online options often add filtering and sharpening that isn’t consistent and almost always results in colors that are off, strange pixelation, or other issues. In addition, my photographic prints are created with the highest quality materials using premium inks that are designed to withstand the test of time.
I guarantee every product that is printed through my photography business.
CAN PARENTS OR FRIENDS ATTEND MY PORTRAIT SESSION?
Absolutely! If you are comfortable, I am comfortable. That said, just make sure that whomever joins you for the session is there to support you, not distract you. I do ask that people refrain from taking their own photos during our session (that’s what you’re paying me for!) so that we’re collectively focused on the best possible experience and outcomes for you. I politely ask that you keep cell phones on silent and put away during our time together.
If one of your goals is to get some group portraits with your best friends, ask me about my group session options.
DO YOU SELL DIGITALS?
One of the most common questions is whether or not I sell digital photos. You get a full-resolution digital copy of every image you purchase from me. Digital-only options are available, as well.
WHY DO YOUR PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS MATTER?
I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and The National Press Photographers Association (NPPA). These organizations and their members all have a commitment to educational and professional excellence, as well as ethical standards that must be kept. Through these organizations, I attend multiple continuing education workshops and seminars every year, and I am peer-reviewed on a regular basis.
WILL YOU DONATE FOR OUR FUNDRAISER?
Every year, I receive dozens upon dozens of requests for photography donations. Some people want me to donate a session for a silent auction or raffle, while others would like me to photograph their event for free. I am always open to hearing more, so it never hurts to reach out to me and ask!
It’s been my experience that many organizations will pay for catering or bartending or entertainment, but they are unwilling to pay for photography at their event. As a result, I prioritize donations where the entire event is 100% volunteer and every vendor is working for free or donating their goods/services 100%.
The causes most near and dear to my heart are clean water access and water conservation. My professional lab donates 10% of their profits to clean water charities every year, and I personally donate 10% of my profits every year to clean water charities. I am also a member of Photographers Without Borders, helping under-represented organizations around the globe.
WILL YOU TRAVEL?
I am an avid traveler and love to be whisked away to the next location for just about any photography job. I’ve been to 17 countries and nearly every state in the entire United States. Travel in the lower 48 States is often offered for no additional charge, and I’m happy to provide you with a custom travel quote.
