The Owl Comes
There's a good reason many people call this owl the "gray ghost." Silent hunters, the Great Gray Owl can hear and triangulate its prey, mostly red-backed voles, scurrying about the subnivian zone under as much as 20 inches of snow. If that's not enough to solidify their stance as nearly otherworldly, I don't know what is.
